Community Guidelines

Version 1.0 · 16 September 2026 · Applies to Notes, discussions, messages and all community features

AVRA Community exists so that people can share experience, ask questions and support each other about everyday safety. That only works if it feels safe to speak.

What belongs here

  • Practical safety experience, tips and questions.
  • Support for someone who is asking for it.
  • Learning, rights information, opportunities and events.
  • Honest feedback about AVRA itself.

What is not allowed

  • Harassment and threats — including targeted insults, intimidation and encouraging others to pile on.
  • Hate speech — attacks based on gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, sexual orientation or any similar characteristic.
  • Publishing private information — anyone's address, phone number, workplace, documents or live location, including your own posted publicly.
  • Impersonation — pretending to be another person, an organization or an AVRA representative.
  • Graphic or exploitative content — including content that sensationalises violence.
  • Spam, scams and recruitment — including unsolicited promotion and financial schemes.
  • Presenting guesses as legal or medical fact — share your experience, and point people to qualified help.

Safety habits we ask for

  • Share routes and live location with trusted contacts, not with a public discussion.
  • Ask before posting about someone else's situation.
  • If a conversation moves toward immediate danger, point the person to local emergency services.

Reporting, blocking and moderation

Every member can report content and block another account. Reports are reviewed by the AVRA team during the prototype stage. Depending on severity, the response may be a warning, content removal, a restriction on community features, or account removal. Illegal content may be reported to the relevant authorities.

If a decision seems wrong

Write to hello@example.com and explain what happened. Moderation during an early prototype is done by people with limited time, and mistakes will be corrected when they are pointed out.

AVRA Community is not an emergency channel and is not monitored around the clock. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
